Summary of Texas Statewide & APA Year End Training

(1.50 RCH)

The Texas Statewide Payroll Conference (TPC) Experience - We'll talk about how deciding to do something for 40 consecutive days can change the way we feel and think about ourselves. Once we get feeling good about ourselves we'll talk how much the TPC has to offer; it's similar to attending an APA national event. We'll review the calculator the IRS has provided for us to perform a paycheck check-up, examine some IRS updates, discuss how to manage over-payments and look over some local tax websites for various states.

Tammie Downey, CPP - Tammie comes to us with over 16 years of payroll experience. She earned her CPP certification back in 2007 and has served as the Vice President of our local chapter of the APA since 2011. She is currently the Assistant Payroll Manager with First Commonwealth Financial Corporation where her and her team is responsible for a $71 million payroll.

Preparing for Year-End - Highlights from the APA Preparing for year-end seminar. Topics will include how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will affect your organization, review the draft of the revised W-4, discuss taxation of fringe benefits and how the IRS is using your year-end reporting to fight tax fraud.

Tina Frysinger, CPP - Tina is a Technology Manager with Schneider Downs, a regional accounting firm headquartered in Pittsburgh. For the past seven years, she has specialized in HR and Payroll integrated solutions. She received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and her MBA from Duquesne University.
