CORPORATE IMMIGRATION AND FOREIGN WORKER REVIEW

(1.50 RCH)

During the presentation, we will introduce the topic of corporate immigration to those in attendance. This will be based on a global scale and will incorporate common employment-based immigration topics that need to be analyzed by companies both in the United States and in other countries around the world.

In discussing these immigration topics, we will provide the attendees with an description of the difference between a business traveler and an employee who is ‘working’ in a new country. We will then discuss how ‘business travel’ vs ‘work’ in a country other than your own requires different compliance measures to be considered. In outlining the steps and the factors that are present in obtaining work authorization for foreign nationals, we will be spending focused time on how payroll setups and compensation matters can influence the immigration options available for a foreign worker. This will include several examples around the world as to the payroll decisions that company’s must make in an effort to have their workers approved for gainful employment in a foreign country.
